CONVENTION

Well I'm back from Convention and this weekend am heading off to a camp out at Brookside on the outskirts of beautiful Brissie for a weekend of fun, stamping, chocolates, food and friends. So quickly thought I would share some photos from Convention.

Here's a picture of Kim in her jammies and boots. The first night at the hotel, the fire alarm went off twice so we had to vacate the building around 1am and 3am. Not a pretty sight .. about 400 people all in their jammies standing outside in the cold!

This is a photo of the stage before it all began. Next are some happy snaps of me and my friends.

Jane (one of my lovely pINK Ladies team members) and I

Now at this stage, my computer died and thankfully Blogger had automatically saved it) and I am sending this on Chelsea's computer so I need to download some more photos so will be back later ...... possibly much later!!!

If anyone out there is reading this and you are wanting to contact me, send me an email and I will read it via Bigpond Mail as I can't send any messages to anyone as I have no Address Book ... sob!

LUCKY LAST

These are my "Roomie" swaps.

Every year I go to convention and get caught out with some of the girls making me a special swap, but this year I remembered. These are going to be a challenge to take to Convention let me tell you.

I found this bag on the web ... not sure if it was SCS or not!

Look ... more paper!!!! I have made each of the girls a handbag with a matching Bag Tag and have even decorated a chocolate bar to go inside. Hope they like them!

That's it for my Convention Swaps this year. Hope you have enjoyed the postings and hopefully I will have lots of news to share with you all when I get back.Who knows I may even be able to post from Convention with my new mini Laptop that I bought with my SU Bonus for selling $100,000 worth of SU goodies in my four years of being a demonstrator!

CYA when I get back to beautiful Brissie!

CONVENTION SWAPS 3D ITEMS

You must be wondering how many swaps I made ... about 70 in all. There are 10 to 20 of each of them. These are the 3D items that I made.

I was determined to use up some of my paper stash so made a few of these using the Pillow Box Die. They are double the length of the normal die. You fold a piece of A5 paper in half and place it on the die just before the perforated line and run it through then open it up ... hope you understand that. The tea cup is "Share a Cup" and the greeting is from Oval All from the Summer Mini.

Now I saw these little books on Split Coast Stampers somewhere and fell in love with them so I made quite a few of them. Once again I have been using up my paper stash.

There is one more post to come so stay tuned!

CONVENTION SWAPS TWO

Here I am back again with the rest of my swaps that I made for Convention.

This card came to me while watching an add on TV. It's sort of a case of the Channel 7 add promoting what's on their channel at some stage during the day. The colours are Confetti White and Soft Suede. The square buton was made using the Buttons Sizzlet Die.

This card was made using the Grid Embossing Technique and the colours are Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White. I have used the Word Window Punch, Stampin' Up! Sizzlets Thanks Embosslit Die and the Butterfly Punch.  Stamp sets areTeeny Tiny Sentiments and Flight of the Butterfly.

Convention Swaps

I'm off to Convention tomorrow and have just finished packing. I have been sitting here trying to upload photos of my swaps so that you will be able to see them over the next few days but something is drastically wrong with my Zoombrowser ... it is on the biggest go slow so am having to use Photoshop and I'm not so good at it. So apologies up front if this does not work. I'm just going to upload photos but with not much description so please forgive me as I am running out of time and patience.

The first two swaps are what's called the Clean and Simple style:

No explanations necessary really!

Now either of these cards could be used for the Males in our life. The first card is my creation and I based it on this year's Stampin' UP! Convention Logo, but not sure if anyone will notice this. The second was cased from the Clean and Simple Stamping which can be found here. I love this site and enjoy seeing the very easy cards created on this site.

If you have any questions, send me and email and I will answer them for you.

MUM'S BIRTHDAY

Today my Mum is 82. We are going over to their house for dinner tonight, which I've cooked ... Chicken Cacciatore with some pasta and beans followed by a baked Marble Cheesecake ... which I have bought ... I'm not the best cheesecake baker in the world and this was way easier.

I've used Razzle Dazzle to create the background on Mum's card which was in the Summer Mini. I loved this set and am hoping it makes it into the new Catalogue. Also used Wonderful Favourites and the background was done with Sanded large background stamp. Colours are So Saffron and Chocolate Chip. Ink colours were the same. I made the flower using the Scallop Circle punch. and the leaves are the Little Leaves Sizzlet from the current Autumn Mini. Ribbon is Chocolate Chip 2.5cm Double Stitched Grosgrain and So Saffron 1.6cm Grosgrain from the Ribbon Bundle earlier this year.

Happy Birthday Mum ... not that she will see this as she doesn't have a computer :)

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

FRANCIE'S BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday to my friend Francie.

I saw this card awhile ago on Jayne Mercer's blog and fell in love with it. So I decided to recreate this card for Francie.

Francie is definitely a pink person, but I didn't want to case Jayne's card completely. So seeing that I am still in love with Parisian Breeze paper, I decided to try to recreate it with Parisian Breeze DSP and Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip Card instead. I tried making it with a different shaped vellum vase but it wouldn't sit right so had to stick with the cylinder shape.

The flowers are from Flower Fusion Too and the ribbon is Kraft Taffeta Ribbon and you can also see some Linen Thread. The tiny tag is created with the Medium Jewelery Tag Punch and on it I stamped the word Happy from Teeny Tiny Sentiments from the current Autumn Mini. The flourish on the vase is stamped in Stazon White and the image is from  Vintage Vogue also from the current mini.  The Kraft leaves are from the Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch and the bling are Clear Rhinestone Brads.

MOTHER'S DAY 2010

As promised here are some photos of how I spent  my Mother's Day with my Mum Mavis who is 82 on Friday.

This was the table. I baked everything, which was good for me. I do like baking but have to be in the mood and everything turned out. We started with a glass of Champers followed by Savoury Scones, Mini Quiches, Ham Sandwiches and Smoked Salmon and Cucumber Sandwiches. For dessert we had Cup Cakes, Melting Moments and Rafaello Choccies topped up with a cup of Rose Petal Infused Tea.

The little Gerbera is from my garden and both Mum and I had one each as we were the ladies of the day!

And here I am with my Mum. We had a lovely day and I hope to spend a few more Mother's Days with her.

And finally here's the card I made for Mum. Colours are Sage Shadow, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White. Stamp sets are Occasional Greetings and Thoughts and Prayers.

Jeanette S

Congratulations Jeanette, I will be in touch with you to deliver your prize.

Stay tuned as I will be posting some cards very soon I promise! Things have been a bit hectic here of late. I have number two son moving home and we are busy fixing up his house to rent and to top that off my hubby was made redundant about 12 days ago. So it's not easy coming in to my craft room to create when he is about ... you know what I mean ... lol!

Be back soon.
