CHLOE'S CARD FOR PAUL

We had Jack and Chloe staying the night while Paul and Kristii were at Ollie and Lita's wedding. Unfortunately Chloe was a little bit sick last night and threw up about five times!! But this morning she is feeling better so we have been sitting here making a card for Paul for Fathers Day.

We have used Organic Outlines (which retires on Tuesday) on Old Olive card to create the background and we stamped it out in Chocolate Chip. Then we punched some dots from Whisper White and used the Cricut to cut out the letters. The Heart is punched with the Heart Punch :) using Bronze card.

So it's all ready for Chloe and Jack to give to Paul next Sunday.

SHIRT AND TIE CARD

I have the girls in my Stampin' Up! team over once a month for a play day :) and this month it was my turn to do the Make and Take. You see we take it in turns for both the Make and Take and Morning Tea. It works out wonderfully especially with morning tea, it's usually very yummy .. oh and the projects are usually fab too :)

Anyway ... it was my turn this month so seeing as it is Father's day next Sunday, I thought I would follow that theme. Now I was doing some surfing over on You Tube and came across this Origami Tie and Shirt. So I made a few changes dimension wise and also with the tie and here's my version.

Card stock used was Basic Grey and Whisper White and the DSP Patterns Paper So Saffron. I've used a Cuttlebug folder to add texture to the body of the white shirt. The punches are Word Window and Modern Label and the greeting is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Now if you are interested in how to fold the tie and shirt, click here and it will take you to the video. The only thing that I did different was that I didn't make the first fold. So instead of folding it into a triangle first, I used a ruler and pencil to draw a line thus eliminating a fold which would have run straight down the centre of the tie. I then followed the instructions from there.

Happy Stamping

WEDDING CARD

My son is Groomsman for his mate Ollie today. Ollie is marrying the beautiful Lita and Kristii asked me if I would make them a wedding card ... on short notice too let me tell you, so let me thank the community of Splitcoast Stampers for coming to my rescue. I saw quite a few cards there using this cake so took my inspiration from them and here's my version.

It turned out gorgeous even if I do say so myself. The greeting is from Whimsical Words which was a free stamp set during Sale-a-bration this year. Flowers are from Sandyion Essentials. Punches are all by Stampin' Up! I've used a couple of the Cuttlebug embossing folders to make the impressions on the cake and on the cream background, I used a gorgeous Stampin' Up! Texturz plate called Perfect Details. It was a gift from  my girlfriend in the States and it's perfect for weddings.

If you look in the brand new 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalgue you will see a similar image in a stamp set called Wedding Sweet on page 45 ... I love this stamp set and all the wheels, papers and Embossing Folders that go with it. The catalogue goes live on September 1dst, but if you would like your own copy, please get in touch with me.

HEY BIRDIE

My neice Kate turned 15 about a week ago and it's so hard to believe little Katie Angel is growing up so fast. She's such a joy to her parents. She is a bright, polite and intelligent girl with a lovely nature. Kate bought my brother Paul and his wife Sue a lot of happiness after the loss of their oldest son Tomas at just  7 years of age. It was a sad time for us all and something I wouldn't wish on any family.  It's a long time ago now but we think of Tom often.

Okay here's the card I made for Kate using the Hey Birdie range from Kaisercraft.

The colour pink on the tree looks odd in the photo but in real life it looked perfect ... something to do with the light I think. I've used the Baroque Motifs on the Tree and the greeting is from Tiny Little Sentiments both by Stampin' Up!

RIDE' EM COWBOY

Here's another card that I made back in May when I was away on a retreat. It came in handy for my Father-in-law's birthday. I'm not sure if he liked it as he didn't say! Typical of blokes really .. but hey I liked it :)

The image is from Bronc Buster and the greeting is from Oval All. Papers are also Outlaw DSP from a year or so ago. I manages to buy some from another demo and am glad that I did, because the are very manly type papers and will come in handy. Card stock is Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow. Ink is Chocolate Chip and Soft Suede. The lasso is Linen Thread and I had seen it used like this in a sample on SCS.

I still can't believe that Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow are discontinued colours ... oh well the new colours look gorgeous and I can't wait to get my hands on them.

Talk again soon ... I've posted quite a lot today and knowing my track record, I might not be back for a couple of days! Promise I will try.

PINK .. PINK and more PINK

Well after I washed my floors today and then watched a movie, I decided I finally had time to have a play with some of my new goodies.

As you know I love pink and this card is almost entirely pink. I've used Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Rose Red. You can see some new goodies on this card as well as some old ones. Unfortunately the Regal Rose ribbon is discontinued and after the 31st August it will no longer be available.

I have used the 3/4" circle Punch and the 1.3/8" Circle Punch and also the brand spankin new Fancy Flower Extra Large Punch. Now it has a single matching stamp to match called "For You Flower" and I love it. I'm going to be using this punch a lot more so stay tuned ... well don't stay TOO tuned cos you know me there can be a bit  of a break between cards :) I have also used  Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder .. another new item in the new Catalogue due for release September 1st .. have you pre-ordered your copy from me!

OKAY TIME FOR A CARD

My neice Victoria had a baby shower a couple of weeks ago. Tora already knows that she is having a boy so hope this is the case cost she got a lot of pressies which were all boy related.

The paper and cardstock are non Stampin' Up! The word 'shower' is from a Cricut Cartridge entitled Lyrical Letters. I hand drew and cut the "Onesie" myself. Punches were all Stampin Up! and the word "BABY" was made using  "Timeless Type Junior Alphabet" Sizzlets by Stampin' Up!

LOOK WHO WE SAW

Okay call us tragics but Chelsea and I love "The Farmer Wants a Wife" which is on Channel 9 on Wednesday nights. So how excited did we get when we went to the Ekka to find Farmer Shaun cooking at the meat pavillion. He cooked a steakburger and was up against a couple of guys from the Queensland Bulls cricket team and no I don't remember who they were! His burger was judged the best of the day.

I have to tell you .. he is just as cute in real life as he is on the TV :)
