WEDDING WISHES TO MY NIECE

My niece Victoria was marred back in February. She and Ryan chose to go away up north and just have a small quiet wedding. However tonight they are having a delayed wedding breakfast to which we are all invited.

Here is the card that I have made for them. The images are from a Hero Arts set called Wedding Day. I've had this set for quite a few years and this is the first time that I have used it.

I stamped the images in Stazon Black and just watercoloured them. I have added dimension with half back pearls, black bling, Dazzling Diamonds and Crystal Effects. It's a bit hard to see but the pink roses are all popped up.

Best get ready as we are leaving for the party in an hour so I really shouldn't be sitting here sharing all this with you.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY CARD

Hi Everyone

Well all the invites are now finished and I can concentrate on other things ... like Convention Swaps ... yes I'm going .... and I'm very excited! But this is not what today's post is about. Today I want to share a card that I made for the very talented Frances Byrne. Frances is a member of my little team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and Tuesday March 24th was her birthday.

Now Frances loves Stampin' Up! but she also loves stamps from other companies so I made her a card using one of my another of my favourite stamp companies .. Outlines Rubber Stamps.

The greeting on this card is by Stampin' Up! and it is from one of the new Hostess Sets called Best Yet. Card colours are Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Lavender Lace with Whisper White and Basic Black. The tag was created using the Stampin' Up! Tag and Small Tag punches and the small scallop border was created with the Scallop Edge punch. Ribbon is Black Gingham. The white card was pre-cut on an Accucut machine.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LYNNE

I have known my good friend Lynne for almost .............. mmmmmmm don't think we will go there really, it might embarrass us both! Anyway she's a special friend and I like to make her a special card.

I actually made it at a class that my friend Francie did at Think Crafty. She does some beautiful work and every so often I love to do one of her classes and every so often she attends one of my in home classes!! It's all about sharing.

Even though Lynney is a BLUE person ... I decided to make her a pink card for a change. Well it's not really a card as such but a little tin full of poignant messages. She loved it.

I've been a bit quiet lately as I have been busy making invite's for Chelsea's 18th birthday in April and Wedding Invitations for Paul and Kristii's wedding coming up in June. They are almost finished and will post photos of them shortly and then it is back to making some cards for show and tell with you all.

IN THE STARS

Recently I did an in-home class at my house called "With One Stamp Set". The set that I chose was from the current mini and it was called In The Stars. The ladies all created one each of the following cards.

In the Stars 3

This card was a gorgeous card, very simple but elegant I think and I did get the idea for it from a card that I saw on SCS. The colours used were Pretty in Pink and Basic Grey. Ribbon is Basic Grey taffeta and the base card was Confetti White. The main flower star was stamped on a scrap piece cut out and popped up. On my original card it was all just plain stamping, but some of my clever customers decided it was a bit too plain so they came up with the idea of popping it up. Also the greeting is from A Little Birthday Cheer. It is on page 114 of the current catalogue and most people miss it ... it is a very versatile set.

In the Stars 2

On this card I used some extra stamps from the Classic Backgrounds set which is being discontinued ... such a shame because it really is a great little set. The Stamp-a-ma-jig was used to make an extra long argyle border. Colours used were Wild Wasabi, Real Red andTempting Turquoise. I also used the 1/2" circle and small and large Star punches ... love these punches, a star brad from the Styled Silver Hodge Podge and Linen Thread. Also in the bottom left hand corner is some patterned paper from the East Coast Prep papers. Thank you Kim for letting me use a little bit of her stash. Ooh and you will notice a star punched in More Mustard that is so from East Coast Prep.

In the Stars 1

Now to the final card. This card was a case of a case from a Card Magazine. In the mag it was made with patterned papers and chipboard shapes so I adapted it using all Stampin' Up! stamps. Other then In the Stars I used ... Happy Happy Birthday Jumbo Wheel, Polka Dot and Sanded Backgrounds and Seeing Spots. The colours were Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. Punches were Fiskars 2" circle punch and then 1.3/8", 1.1/4", 1", 3/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches and also the Small and Large Star punches. Ooh and the retired larger corner rounder from Stampin' Up!.

So as you can see I did use a couple of other stamp sets in my class but the aim of the class was to work with one set as the basic set! Just goes to show that each stamp set that you own can really be very versatile!

MINI PIZZA BOX AND NOTE CARDS

Pizza Box and Cards Mini

Last year I made a mini pizza box using the gorgeous Berry Bliss papers. This time I decided to create another box using Pick-a-Petal and Fun and Fast Notes. The images in Fun and Fast notes lend themselves to these very cute little 3" x 3" cards. Card images were coloured using the Stampin' Write markers.

A VERY DIFFERENT WEDDING CARD

Lisa's Wedding Card

The daughter of one of our very closest friends, is getting married this weekend at Byron Bay. Lisa's wedding is going to be very different from the norm so I have made her a wedding card to suit the occasion ... hopefully.

The paper is from the Urban Prairie range from Basic Grey ... it's so very beautiful and I don't normally like anything to do with birds in either stamps or papers but Lisa's wedding invite had a Bird of Paradise on it so I chose this paper ... not that it's a bird of paradise but I liked the way there were two birds with their beaks touching each others as if having a little kiss!!!

It's hard to tell but the birds have been cut out and popped up as have some of the flowers. There are also some gorgeous chocolate coloured pearls on the card the the photo doesn't do them justice. The greeting is by PSX and I've had it for quite a while. It is stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate.

We are heading off on Friday for a long weekend and I'm so looking forward to spending time back in Byron Bay, it's one of the most beautiful places on the east coast even if it is in New South Wales .... just joking!

SNEAK PEAK FROM NEW CATALOGUE

Fresh Cuts 1

It's not long now till we have the new catalogue in our hot little hands. As a demonstrator we were allowed to pre-order from a selection of new stamps from the catalogue. So here is my very first card created with a stamp set from the new 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue.

The stamp set used was Fresh Cuts and you can also see the Sanded Background stamped in Elegant Eggplant on the main card body. Card stock colours used were Pale Plum, Elegant Eggplant and Whisper white.
The main image is stamped in Elegant Eggplant onto white tissue paper and scrunched it up then smoothed it out. Then smoosh the Glue Stick onto Pale Plum card and gently press the scrunched tissue paper onto it. Then you just fold the edges over the base card and stick down. The technique is called Faux Silk. You can also see that I sponged Pale Plum Ink over the crinkled image as well. Ribbon is Taffeta Whisper White and the half back pearls are from the Pretties Kit. The "For You" greeting is also from the Fresh Cuts set.

For those of you that have pre-ordered your 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue, please be patient .. for those of you that haven't please

SUMMER MINI SAMPLES

Embrace Life 3

Wow can you believe we're into March and I haven't posted anything created with sets from the Summer Mini .. so here's some. The set used was Embrace Life and the words are from Short and Sweet. Card colours are Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. The ribbon is Rose Red Double-stitched Ribbon and I did the doodling around the edge by hand.

Embrace Life 1

This card is also made using Embrace Life and the words are from Cheer & Wishes on page 121 of the 2208-2009 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue. Card used is Rose Red and Whisper White. The flowers and greeting were stamped with Black Stazon and then coloured with Stampin' Pastels. In the middle of the flowers you can also see that I have used the Crystal Iris chunky Sprinkles. Ribbon is Regal Rose 5/8" GrosGrain.

Eastern Blooms 3

Now this card was created with Eastern Blooms and Sincere Salutations. I seem to be having a bit of a love affair with Rose Red in this post as once again I have used it on this card together with Pretty in Pink and Whisper White and I have used the Double Stitched 1" wide Grosgrain Ribbon and if you look closely you will see the gorgeous Chunky Sprinkles Stampin' Glitter in Light Pink. I dolloped a dab of Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive in the centre of the flowers and sprinkled on the glitter.

Eastern Blooms 4

Guess what ... nope it's not Rose Red but Ruby Red with River Rock and Whisper White. Stamps are Eastern Blossoms and Say it with Scallops. The "For You" was punched out using the new Scallop Square punch and the leaves were created with scissors after the River Rock card was folded in half and run through the crimper. Other accessories were River Rock Double Stitched 1cm wide ribbon and the scallop frame was created using the Scallop Edge Punch. Papers are from the Ginger Blossom Designer Series Papers.

Hope you like them.

WELCOME

Hi Everyone

Firstly welcome to my new blog! A very big thank you to Kim Gavarra for helping me get it all together. I can post to blogs but I can't do much else and Kim very kindly managed to resize my banner and put in the lovely printed grey side borders and made it all look pretty for me. I'm very happy and it's great because now I have no hosting fees!!

I thought I would start by revisiting some of the cards from my trishmyers.com website. But over on the top left hand corner of this blog you will notice a slide show. I've uploaded photos from my old Blog to this slide show so that you can see photos of some of my previous creations. If you click on them individually you will be able to see a larger image.

But here are a few of my favourites.

Pick-a-Petal has always been a favourite set of mine and I loved this card which from memory went to a friend for her birthday.

This is a card that I made for my Dad for Fathers Day last year. I always find it challenging to make male cards and the secret is to keep them simple!

This was the card that I made for my son Paul's birthday last year. He is an all round sportsman and really loves surfing. I made the surfboard myself and the swirl on it came from the Stamp-It greeting on the card.

This card was for my friend Francie. I think that I made it back in 2007.

Now this card was a complete case from the 2008 - 2009 Stampin' Up! Catalogue. You can see it on page 88 but you will notice that I changed the colours and stamps used.

Lastly I thought I would finish this post with a Christmas Card. It's non traditional but I do love it, the colours are so subtle. This card was inspired by two other demonstrators .. Kim Gavarra and Karen Thomas.

The Retired List will be released tonight also and I will be posting it as soon as I can. Keep checking back or add me to your Google Reader.

Cheers
Trish
