HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANCES

My good friend Frances  is celebrated her birthday last weekend so I thought I would share the card that I  made for her.

I have used a lot of my new favourite Stampin' Up! products on Frances' card.

I love the new Primrose Petals Core'dinations card and I embossed it with the new Chevron Folder and then sanded it to get the two tone colour. The blackboard stamp is from Purple Onion Design and is stamped with Versamark and Whisper White Embossing Powder. the little "4You" stamp is from Tiny Tags and I have also used the Jewelry Tag punch. You can also see that I have used stamps and Framelits from the "Hearts a Flutter" bundle and the colours I used were Basic Grey, Primrose Petals and Baja Breeze. The flowers and string bows are from an unknown source.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR SUNDAY FRANCES

STAMPIN TRIMMER

The New Stampin' Trimmer

Introducing the new and improved Stampin' Trimmer! Although paper trimmers are a common crafting tool, this trimmer was designed exclusively by paper crafters for paper crafters-and because it was made by Stampin' Up!, you know it's a cut above the rest!

  • An extra-wide 15.9 cm cutting base and an extended 39 cm ruler
    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 4 mm increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
  • A full 30.5 cm cutting and scoring track
    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 30.5 cm without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
  • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts
    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colours: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.
  • Storage compartment under base
    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organised, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BELINDA

Tomorrow our very good friend Belinda celebrates a special 'O' birthday. A few of us went for lunch today at  'Ave Cucina' Cafe here in Coorparoo, Brisbane ... it was just delicious and would highly recommend it.

But on to the card that I made for Miss B and also part of her pressie.

I have used the Delicate Doilies stamp set and the background stamp Hello, Doily both are from Stampin' Up! The Cotton ribbon is also from Stampin' Up! and the card stock colours were Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand.

I didn't mention on B's card about which birthday she was celebrating but I did show it on the little gift that I gave her.

There were 40 pins (one for each year) in the little pin cushion all from various companies. But the fabric and the trim are by Stampin' Up! The Pom Pom trim is now retired but the fabric is still available and it is called Flirtatious. The little jelly mold was a gift from my friend Sue and now I have a few more so I can now make some more pin cushions :)

And here we all are at lunch ... that's Belinda the birthday girl in the middle. Tina is sitting to my right, Francie is on Belinda's left side and Sue is sitting beside her ... a very talented bunch of card makers I must say.

Happy Birthday Belinda!

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN

Hi Everyone

A couple of weeks ago my good friend Bette turned 70 .... sssshhh ... she doesn't like to think about it. I was scratching my head about her birthday card because I wanted it to be super special. Bette and I have always been great shoppers and have had tons of fun over the years getting our 'retail therapy'. I found this gorgeous card over at Calla Lily Studio and it suited the occasion perfectly. Here is my version of her card:

How cute is that? Now here are the real 'shopper queens' at Bette's 'special' birthday lunch :)

All punches, some card and papers used were from Stampin' Up! with a mixture of card, embossing folders and papers from other companies.

Happy Birthday Girlfriend!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hello Everyone

Well here we are at the start of a New Year .. My wish for this year is that it is a happy year for us all particularly after our annus horribilis (to quote the Queen) of last year.  With the passing of my Mum and Greg's Dad, 2012 was really just a blur for our families and you can tell from my lack of posts and lack of updates. So let me remedy that and kick off the new year with a photo of the Christmas Card that I made for some friends.

This cute little Gingerbread House was inspired by a card that was demonstrated at the Brisbane Heartfelt Stampin' Event in November last year. The original card was created by Liz Collett and this is my version.

I have used products from several different companies but all the stamps, punches and dies that were used are from Stampin' Up!. Contact me if you would like to know more.

Stay tuned for more posts.Hugs and Happy Stamping

GRANDAD'S 90TH BIRTHDAY CARD

Greg's Dad turned 90 last week, which is an amazing age to reach and I wanted to make a special card. We decided we didn't want to put 90 candles on a cake so I found this fabulous card where the creator had put 90 candles on the card, so our problem was solved.

Here's a closer look

and this is the box that I made for the card to go in.

Joe was very pleased with his card and even more grateful that he didn't have to blow out 90 candles :) Finally, here is a photo of him with his three boys.

Happy Birthday Joe and Happy Stamping Everyone!

MY CRAFT ROOM MAKEOVER

Hello Everyone

There's been a lot happening here over the last few months with unwell parents needing assistance, a 21st birthday party and Convention, a retreat and weekends away so consequently I haven't had much time to create. However even though I haven't been creating I have been updating my craft room. I needed more storage so I sold the futon that wasn't used all that much and here is how my craft space looks now.

The first photo shows how my work desk looks and this is the same space that I created back in 2010, so no changes here. The only new addition is the little ottoman beside the desk as I needed something to put my Paris cushion on :)

This wall is where the futon used to sit and it is now a work station for my Big Shot and Cricut. The wall was a hot pink colour it is now painted a lovely, soft gelato pink, so much prettier. The cupboards are Ikea Fakum kitchen cupboards with an Ikea Vika Amon tabletop and the bookcases are from the Ikea Billy range. They hold so many stamp sets and magazines and there are plenty of unsightly looking items in the cupboards :) The work station is higher than my desk, making it much easier to use my die cutting machines and a lot easier on my back.

This is my Ikea Expedite and it was also put together back in 2010 so not much difference here either apart from the fact that all my card is now sitting in one spot (way too much card sitting on these shelves) as are my punches, chipboard, ribbons and 12x12 papers plus a few other bits ... these are hidden as well.

Okay so my room looks fabulous and I love it; it's wonderful to have everything in one spot and I hope that I can remember where I have put it all .... now I just need my mojo back so that I can create again.
