CHRISTMAS IS DONE AND DUSTED

Hello Everyone

Firstly I want to wish you all a belated Merry Christmas! I had the best of intentions to post a little something on Christmas day but it didn't happen. We have been out and about since last Friday and finally had my family gathering here yesterday and now it is all done and dusted .... the cooking, the cleaning, the cooking, the cleaning, the cooking, the cleaning and the cleaning and the cleaning ... hahahahaha! Don't ya just luv Christmas!

Here's a couple of photos for you and I will finish with a different version of the sleigh card that I showed you a few days ago.

Here's Harvey with his first ever Christmas pressie from Granny and Gramps!

What was inside ... a gorgeous musical snow globe ... the snow swirls when the music plays. We also bought him a book ... Twas the Night Before Christmas ... an old favourite.

Here's our family photo for this year ... note the boy's blue steel looks :) Two new additions this year .. Harvey .. of course and Lindsey, Jay's girlfriend .. welcome Lindsey and Harvey.

And finally the card.

That's it for now ... I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and here's to a Happy New Year!

DIORAMA CARD 2011

I first made one of these cards back in 2009 and vowed I wouldn't do any more but I wanted to make a couple of special cards this year for some friends so decided to have another try. Here is the result and way different variation on the original.

I actually sat down and made four of them and had heaps of fun but have to say that I am now officially well and truly over making Christmas Cards :)

Enjoy!

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

Twelve months ... gone by in a flash. I think because we were waiting for the birth of our first grandchild!! And here he is ... Harvey Joseph Myers age 4 months.

Isn't he just sooo cute .. the very best gift anyone has ever given us .. this Christmas will be extra special!

Here's our tree this year! Pretty much the same as last year really but it looks so pretty with the lights on and all the pressies underneath.

Merry Christmas everyone!

TOP NOTE SLEIGH

I've been doing a bit of creating with friends recently and this card is a copy of my friend Francie's card which she cased from somewhere on the net. I've made some changes to hers and she made changes to the original.

Colours are Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. I've used the Swirls Scribbles and Lots of Tags Sizzlit Dies, Cottage Cutz and Memory Box Dies for the pressies, Oval Punch and the greeting is from Best Yet  which is now retired. Gotta love the new Champagne Stampin Glass Glitter which adorns the sleigh and the sleigh is made with the Top Note Die.The paper is from Jolly Holiday DSP also retired ... it was a gorgeous range of papers and I still have a whole pack in my stash. I've also used a fabulous Cuttlebug Folder on the sleigh and also on the Very Vanilla Background called Flourishes .... I think!

Happy Christmas to you all!

ANNUAL CALENDAR CLASS

Each year I do a Calendar Class and they have proven to be popular. I was a bit worried about this year's calendar as last year's was soooo pretty but I decided to go a little bit more funky/retro to last year's and this is how it turned out.

Here's a close up:

I have used the Domestic Goddess Designer Series Papers together with Calypso Coral card stock and Calypso Coral Ruffled ribbon. I've also used the Word Window, Designer Label, Large Oval, Scallop Oval and Scallop Edge Border punches. Other tools used were 18 gauge jewellery wire and jewellery tools, Crop-a-dile and Corner Chomper and a Sizzix Frame and Frame Back, Scallop Bigz Die.

It's a little funky/retro ... don't you think ... let me know!

WHITE ON WHITE CARD CLASS

A few weeks back I did a 'White on White' Christmas Card Class. Here are the two cards that we made.

As you can see we've used quite a few different products to achieve an effective look. All products are Stampin' Up!. Stripes Embossing Folder, Ornament Punch, Lace Ribbon Border, Tags Till Christmas and Christmas Greetings stamp sets, Pearl Basic Jewels and Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

On the next card we used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Petals-a-Plenty embossing Folder on the Chrissie Trees and these trees were punched using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch. The greeting was once again from Christmas Greetings, Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the ribbon is the 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon.

TWO CARDS TO SHARE WITH YOU TODAY

At long last I am over the awful cold that I picked up about 4 weeks ago. It has taken forever to leave my system so I am now back to creating.

Here's the first of two cards that I have created. This one is for my friend Kerrie whose birthday it is today .. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KERRIE!

The stamped image is Gracefully Wired from Impresssion Obsession and the greeting is from Just Rite Rubber Stamps and I've used some Nesties as well.

Now the second card is for our friend Lynn who turned 50 on the 3rd of October .. yes same day as mine and tomorrow we are off to celebrate with her .. belatedly :)

It's very girlie and I'm really happy with how it turned out except for one small thing!!! Lynn is really a turquoise girl and this card is all pink but I just could NOT find the right papers in her fave colour :(

The main image is My Mother's Dress by Inkadinkadoo which I only acquired several months ago. I've always loved it and it is now finally part of my 'collection" and the greeting is from Hero Arts. Once again I have used some Nestabilities here too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLS!

TWO MORE MALE CARDS FOR YOU

Look a little added bonus for you as I did make some other cards for show and tell on the day.

I love the simplicity of this card and it's really easy to make. The greeting is from Occasional Greetings and a little sneak peek of the new Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon. Card stock colours are Basic Grey, Basic Black, Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler. I have used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and the Scallop Edge and Corner Rounder punches.

Once again on this card I have used the Square Lattice embossing folder. Card colour is Marina Mist and Whisper White. The DSP is from the Brights Paper Stacks and the stamp sets used were On Your Birthday and Seaworthy. I have used the Modern Label, Large Oval, 1.3/8" Circle and Scallop Punches and the ribbon is 5/8" Marina Mist Grosgrain.

MALE CARD CLASS .. CARD TWO

Hi Everyone

Bet ya thought I would forget :)

Okay here are the details. I have used cards and inks in Early Espresso, River Rock, Cajun Craze, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla. The stamp sets are Occasional Greetings (retired) and Extreme Elements. I also used the Hearts and Brackets Bigz Die (now retired) and the small and large star punches (also retired ... very sad really as I love my star punches .. mayve SU will bring out a Star Bigz Die here in Aus to replace them!) The ribbon on the card is Night of Navy 5/8" Grosgrain .. yep retired. You have to remember I did this class on the 29th August, so all of the above was still current.

MALE CARD CLASS

Last Monday I had a class at home and the ladies all made two male cards. They could be for Father's Day or birthdays, it was up to them. This is the first card that I had made as a sample for them to follow:

Colours are Soft Suede and Early Espresso in both card and inks .. oh and I also used some Whisper White and River Rock card as well. Punches used were 1.1/4" Square, Large, Scallop and Extra-Large Ovals. The little bit of scalloped card you see under FATHER is from the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die.

Be back tomorrow with the second card.

HI EVERYONE ... I'M A NANNA

Our brand new baby Grandson, Harvey Joseph Myers was born on Monday 22nd August at 6.55pm and weighed 8lb 4oz. He's absolutely gorgeous and we love him to bits.

Proud Nanna with her little Cutie Pie
Isn't he just soooo precious!

And what's a post without a card ... here's the card I made for Harvey's baby shower. I did make him the cutest Giraffe card but forgot to take a photo. I will do that when I next visit him and post it for you.

There is a zoo theme in his nursery so I have followed through with the theme on his cards and with his gifts. If anyone wants to know anything about the card, email me and I will post the details.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY CLASS

Well as promised here are some photos of my 'Christmas Countdown Calendar' Christmas in July class. Everyone received half a kit of the 'Christmas Cheer' Simply Scrappin' Kit and they made the countdown calendar, a card and a box to put the countdown dates in.

Here's a close up of the Christmas Tree.

I made two calendars and the girls chose which design they wanted to make. Here's the other design and it's really very cute. After I uploaded it I realised that it doesn't have the covered clip or date on it ... sorry!

and here's a close up of Santa.

The whole class consisted of Stampin' Up! products apart from a Nestabilities Labels 2 die which was used on the Christmas Tree Calendar, a Celco Bulldog Clip from Woolworths and the silver bells and silver stars which were purchased from Spotlight.

I also used quite a few Stampin' Up! punches:

Full Heart,  Heart to Hearts; 1/4", 1/2", 1.1/4", 1.3/8" Circles and 1.3/4" Scallop Circle, Large Tag, Ornament, Boho Blossoms and the Five Petal Flower Punches.

and of course ...Box No. 2 Bigz Die, Dazzling Diamonds and 5/8" Marina Mist Grosgrain Ribbon. BTW the "Days until ..." words were printed from the computer. I think that covers everything!

Enjoy!
