NORFOLK ISLAND

Hey Everyone

On the spur of the moment we decided to take a week's break before Greg starts his new job, so we took ourselves off to Norfolk Island. This was our first break away in thirty years ... just the two of us! Here's some photos for you.

This is a photo of Quality Row. This is where the officers and First Engineers and Commandants lived at Norfolk during the Convict Settlements. This is a back view looking out to Government House and the Pacific Ocean.

Here's ME. This photo is taken at Mt Pitt looking over the Airport and ocean.

This gorgeous bay is called Anson Bay. It was a bit of a hike down but we made it there and back. It looks very pretty but is acutally quite a dangerous beach.

Here's our accommodation ..... only jokin ... it's a workers cottage from the convict era

This was our accommodation ... Whispering Pines .. it was just delightful ... it looked down this beautiful valley full of Norfolk Island Pines out to the ocean.

Here's me and the view from the cabin.

Now a couple of times a year a cruise ship comes in. There is no safe harbour or no pier so passengers are loaded off the ship on to small boats and ferried ashore. Unfortunately it was too rough this day so the ship just sailed around the island ... spectacular to see. It came so close to the reef and I was worried that it would run aground.

Here's my DH,  Greg. This photo is taken from the point overlooking the coast where Captain Cook first landed back in 1760 ... I think!! The water here is absolutely crystal clear. The actually point of his landing is behind my back but this is on the point overlooking in the other direction!!

This little cove in between the rocks here is where they think he first landed. He thought that all the pine trees would make fabulous masts for the ships, but the Norfolk Pine was too soft.

And finallly ... just the two of us at Two Chimneys Winery enjoying a cheese platter for lunch with a couple of glasses of Verdelho. A very expensive lunch I might add but it was our last day and we enjoyed it.

Hope you enjoyed this photos Kerrie! :)

LAST DEAL OF THE WEEK

Hello Everyone

Sorry this is a bit late but we decided to go away for a week's break before Greg starts his new job. We have a week in Norfolk Island which was lovely. Such a peaceful, quiet and absolutely beautiful place. Probably a bit too quiet for me. BUT there was a craft shop there ... I was surprised but I didn't buy anything as I don't need it. I am saving all my money for the Idea Book and Cataologue which is now about two months away... I am wishing my life away at the moment because I can't wait! Anyway here is this weeks Deal ... 50% discount on a selection of accessories.

BLACK AND WHITE

Ever since Paul and Kristii got married ... which btw was one year last Saturday 12th June ... where did that go ... I have been loving working with black and white colour schemes.

Here's a card that I made on a recent retreat with some of my stamping friends.

The flowers on this card are by Creative Memories. The Rhinestone Brads are by Stampin' Up!. The greeting is also a Stampin' Up!  greeting and it is from Kind and Caring Thoughts a gift from a US friend. The oval and scallop were done using Nestabilities. Card is Basic Grey, Whisper White and Basic Black. The ribbon source is unknown as is the paper.

KIM'S BIRTHDAY

Ok here I am back with a card finally. My computer died and went to Computer Heaven so had to get a new one. I have had to work out how to find my photos etc and I haven't had a lot of time to play. I have also lost my brushes and am waiting on my good friend Kerrie to email me them so that I can save them and put them back on my photos ... hey Kerrie :)

I have another new toy .... I caved in and bought a Cricut Machine as I love some of the gorgeous images that you can create with this machine. This green background is from the Storybook Cartridge. I have punched out some cute little flowers in Rich Razzleberry using the Stampin' Up! Trio of Flowers punch and attached some cute little pearls in the centre. The greeting is from Sincere Salutations and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry also. The label is from the Stampin' Up! Lots of Tags Sizzlits 4-Pack Dies and I've also used the Wide Oval punch.

Some images used on this card are copyright by Stampin' Up!

STOCKS ARE STARTING TO RUN OUT

Hello Everyone

Several weeks ago Stampin' Up! announced their new Colour Rennovation! Colour families are in the process of change and therefore some of the old favourites will be going to make way for the new. Some customers anticipated that stocks may run out and have already placed orders for retiring product due to missing out in previous years. They had the right idea!

Stampin' Up! has posted a notice on the Demonstrator Website this morning that from today onwards any of the retiring colour products that are out of stock will no longer be available. If you are wanting anything in particular do not leave your run too late.

I placed an order this morning and already two of the products were out of stock .... don't dilly dally and contact me today to order any retiring order ink pads, ink refills and card.

Can't remember what's retiring .. click on the CLICK HERE link below the image to see:

Hope you can view the colours okay ... can't tell you how long I have been sitting here trying to work out how to get the link into the image .... as you can see I gave up. I have done this dozens of times before but it will not work now ... any help out there appreciated! I think it is because I am on my daughter's computer has mine has died!!! It will be back next week and guess what ... it is a brand new pc .... I've very excited to have a new toy to play with.

Cheers
Trish
