I DIDN'T FORGET MY CARD FOR THE WEEK

It's a card that I made Kristii for her birthday.

But wait .... look who popped up inside to wish Kristii Happy Birthday!

...... MICHAEL BUBLE!

Part of Kristii's birthday present is a ticket to The Bube's concert on 12th February here in Brisbane. I just love him as do Kristii and Chelsea and we can't wait to see him again. Chelsea and I went to his last concert a few years ago and it was fabulous. He was just gorgeous; a little bit cheeky and also a little bit naughty, it's all part of his charm.

I cased a card from over on SCS by someone called Normay. I really liked her frame idea, so hope she doesn't mind.

The spotty paper is from Fancy Pants Designs and the stamps are from the High Heels set by Hero Arts. I created the frame using the Labels Two nesties from Spellbinders.

ALTERED LETTER FOR CHLOE

Chloe was given a letter "C" from the Typo Shop for Christmas and as soon as she opened it, she was up and came over and asked me if I would decorate it for her. She is away in Bali on holidays with Paul and Kristii and Jack and they will be home this time next week, so my aim was to have it finished before they arrived home.

Amazingly I have done it!!

I am so pleased with the finished product and hopefully Chloe will be as well.

The flowers and ribbons are all a mixture that I have had in my stash for ages and the papers are from Glitzitnow. I have used my fabulous Cricut Create (I love this baby) to create the letters and the frame. The purple Ric Rac is made from Bazzill using the  Die-namics Jumbo Ric Rac from MFT. The butterflies I bought in Spotlight together with the sprays of pearls and bling.

I hope she likes it ... btw .... this will be my card of the week!

CARD FOR THE WEEK

I made this card last Monday before the news broke of Toowoomba's flooding. I thought it might be nice to post it today to bring some something cheerful into our lives.

I have finally used my Cricut Paper Lace cartridge. It is gorgeous even though I have covered most of it up. Colours are White, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler. I have used the Scallop Envelope and also Floral Fusion Sizzlet to cut the flowers. The greeting is from On a Pedestal and was punched out with both the large and extra large suare punches. The ribbon is a Cherry Cobbler Lingerie ribbon and the pearls are by Kaisercraft.

AUSTRALIA FLOOD APPEAL

Hello Everyone

By now you will have all seen the devastation that the floods have caused in my home town of Brisbane. I live in a southern suburb well away from the river so we are safe as is the rest of my family. I also have family in Toowoomba where the flash flood ripped through the city last Monday, luckily they are all safe as well but my thoughts are with all the people who have lost family and friends and whose houses have been destroyed.

As in previous times, Stampin' Up! are offering their support in times of need. Following is the statement released yesterday.

As flood waters continue to inundate Australia in what has been described as the worst flooding in 37 years, we express our deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones and homes and to those whose lives have been changed forever. We, like so many of you, feel a compelling need to lend support to all those who have been affected.

Stampin' Up! demonstrators have a long history of making a difference in the lives of others--especially when disaster strikes and the need is greatest. Nearly two years ago, we watched another tragedy unfold in Australia. Our hearts were touched as demonstrators, customers and friends joined together in support of the Bushfire Appeal. We've done it before and we can certainly do it again!

Please join with us by supporting the Australia Flood Appeal--a cause in which Stampin' Up! will donate $2 AUD of the retail value of sales from any stamp set (with a retail value of $30 or more) sold in Australia and New Zealand from 15 January through 15 February to the State Emergency Services in Queensland.

During this period, all orders placed with me will be free of freight charges. All freight costs normally paid by you will also be donated to the State Emergency Services in Queensland. If you would like to contribute in this small way, then please contact me to place an order.

SLICE OF HAPPY

Here is a card that I have been creating over the last three days. It's taken me that long because, because, because ... well I don't really know. When you look at it, it's a very simple card but I just had trouble on deciding what the main image of the card would be. Finally I decided on this little Hero Arts stamp that I've had in my stash for many years.

The blue in the paper, which is from Teresa Collins Celebrate, is actually much prettier than what the photo depicts. I have teemed it with Marina Mist card by Stampin' Up! and Basic Black. I made the rosette from the same paper and was surprised that it turned out so well. I've coloured the images using Stampin' Write Markers and the ribbon and button were also from my stash.

Well I didn't keep to the card a day as you can see and my daughter has written on my notice board .. Every three days ... followed by a smiley face. So I've decided that it is way too hard for me to stick to this resolution so will try for a card every three days or one every seven days .. besides what would I do with all those cards!

See you sometime next week!

JANUARY 4TH, 5TH AND 6TH

Welll I didn't take long to break my resolution did I, but I sat down today and made up for it and am now up to date. However after this week, I'm definitely going to one card per week ... sorry everyone too much pressure.

Here are three cards that I made all using the Love Letters DSP. Admittedly they are 3" x 3" in size but nevertheless there are still three of them :)

All card and ink colours used on these cards are Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Riding Hood Red.

The ribbon on this card is the 1.1/4" Wide Striped GG in Basic Black and the little tag is a Mini Vintage Tag available in the current Summer Mini. The '4 You' is from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

The lace is 5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim also from the Summer Mini, the pearl is generic and the stamps are from Vintage Vogue.

The ribbon on this card is 1/4" Black GG and I've also used some Linen Thread to hold the little tag created with the Jewellery Tag Punch (it's so cute) and the Tiny Tags stamp set. I have punched out the spotty paper twice using the Fancy Flower extra large punch and the black centre flower was created using the Boho Blossoms punch and Love Letters DSP.  I also used the 5 Petal flower punch to creat the black leaves behind the flower. The brad is from the Antique Brads collection.

If you would like to order any products from either current mini or the 2011 Idea Book and Catalogue, please contact me

Cya tomorrow ... hopefully :)

VALENTINE SWEETHEART'S PROMOTION AND FLOOD RELIEF

Hi Everyone

Well here we go again the start of another new year, let’s hope it is a happy and healthy year for us all.

Like all of you, I am over the rain but not as much as the people up in the flooded areas all over Queensland. I cannot believe the images on TV, they remind me so much of the ’74 flood in Brisbane, I hate to think what the clean-up will be like for them all. My thoughts are with them.

Stampin’ Up! has announced new promotion for Valentine’s Day and I’m a bit late in notifying you about it as it started on the 30th December and runs through until the 24th January. I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day as I think, like Thanksgiving, it is an American holiday, but for those of you who love heart images then you will love this promotion.

What I have decided to do is if anyone purchases either the Sweetheart stamp set and/or the Full Heart punch on offer during this promotion, I will donate my commission from these items to the Flood Relief Fund. It isn’t much I know, but every little bit helps. Click on the image below and it will take you to the customer website and you can see all the details.

Oh and I'm guessing that those of you who follow my blog will have noticed that I'm behind in making my card a day ... resolutions usually are broken, but how early in the peace did I break mine. stay tuned, I'm going to do some stamping right now :)

FYI, it's pouring here in Brisbane ... AGAIN!!!

Cheers

JANUARY 3RD .. BEAUTIFUL WINGS

Well I am doing well at this stage, but everyone is still on hols so it's quiet and not much happening at our house, here is today's card. I used another sketch from CPS and this card is sort of Clean and Simple I think .. but .. I'm not sure if I like it. It doesn't seem right for me to make a card without any ribbon on it!

My photography is not so hot with this card it's a little too bright but it will have to do.

I have used all Stampin' Up! cardstock and ink. Colours are Confetti White, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi. The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslit and the word stamp is a Penny Black saying. I used the Cricut to cut out the leaf border and the cartridge was Paper Lace. There is also some Swarovski Crystals on the butterflies, but they are a little to hard to see.

JANUARY 2ND ... 2ND CARD

Just a quick post .. so far so good! Here's my second card for the year.

I've used a sketch from Card Positioning Systems to create today's card.

I've used the Fun and Fast Notes stamp set, that I haven't used in awhile but it's such a versatile set. The paper is from the Sweet and Sour DSP range. Colours are Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla. Ribbon is 5/8 Satin and I've used the Circle Cutter to cut the large circle. The Scallop Cirlce was cut using Nestabilites as was the smaller circle inside. The "friends'"greeting is from Tiny Tags and I've used the Jewellery Tag medium to punch it out..

Happy Stampin!

2011 .. A CARD A DAY.. WELL MAYBE A WEEK!

It is the beginning of a new year and as we know resolutions are always made now and I'm sure that with most of us, they are almost always broken.

First off I thought I would try and make a card a day then I realised this could be a very difficult resolution to keep because some days are so full on, there just wouldn't be the time, so my resolution will be .. I will when I can but if it isn't possible, I will definitely make a card a week ... fingers crossed :)

Here is my first effort.

I have used the Blueberry Crisp DSP togegther with Very Vanilla and Pacific Point card. The VV card has been embossed using the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder. I don't know where I got the die cut flower from but I covered it with the DSP and the leaves, centre of the flower and the stem have been inked in Crumb Cake. I have used the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set for the greeting and the Word Window and Modern Label punches for the tag.Thread is Linen and Hemp Twine in the button on the centre of the flower.

There you are my first card for 2011 :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
