MERRY CHRISTMAS

Just quickly wanted to share some of the handmade Christmas Cards I received this year. This is a piccie of all of them placed beautifully on my sideboard followed by a few close ups.

Now I got another card .. well it's more of a 3D item but it didn't fit on the sideboard. It had it's own special place.
Is this not just TOO gorgeous!! It's from Belinda and she not only made me all these boxes and the very beautiful Accordian Card but she made one for Francie as well. How spoilt are we! Thank you so much Belinda ... it will be coming out every Christmas now as part of my Chrissie Decs!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE WHO POPS IN TO VISIT MY BLOG.
A big thank you to you all.

DIORAMA CHRISTMAS CARD

Every year I make one special card for a friend. Lynne and I have known each other since we were about 17. This year, I have made her a diorama card that I cased from Mel Stampz. Mine is slightly different ... because I couldn't find the little houses paper that Mel used.

The Christmas Trees are from My Minds Eye and the houses are from KI Memories. Seasons Greetings is from Stampin' Up! ... Many Merry Messages.

It's going to be very hard for me to give this card away ... but I will!

MY BRISBANE REGIONAL SWAP

Last Saturday was the Stampin' up! Brisbane Regional the last for the year in Australia. It was a relaxing fun filled day with lots of interesting speakers, fabulous demos by some of Queensland's very talented SU demonstrators, a lovely lunch and catching up with friends.

At these events we always make some swap cards and here's what I came up with this year.

These are based on Scraplings but mine are acutally larger, they are more like a bookmark really. I ended up making 30 of them to exchange. It's a bit  hard to see but I've used the fantastic new Butterfly punch from Stampin' Up! currently available in the newly released Summer Mini.

Card stock is Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue and Whisper White. The butterfly is three dimensional and this is the part that's hard t see. I've actually stamped up acetate on some of the cards and punched out a butterfly shape. Stamps sets are Butterfly Prints, Flight of the Butterfly, Swirl is from Season of Joy and the background is En Francais. ... can't remember where the little flower is from. Ink colours are Cameo Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue, Always Artichoke and Stazon White. Ribbon is 5/8" Ballet Blue and Linen Thread.

I received some lovely swaps in return and hopefully ... when I get around to it ... I will take a photo of them.

Cheers

SUMMER IS HERE AND SO IS THE NEW MINI

Good Morning Everyone

Well it's officially SUMMER here in Australia! I have to say that it is a very  pleasant temperature here at the moment around 23 degrees but over the last few days it has been up in the range of 34 degrees Centigrade, that's up around 93 degrees Fahrenheit ... how pleasant .... NOT!!! So summer came a little early this year but then it always done and this is only the beginning!

Along with arrival of summer comes the new Stampin' Up! Summer Mini.

How pretty is the cover! If you would like a copy of your very own, please contact me or if you click here to view all the lovely images online.

As always, you can also email me if you would like to place an order.

CHRISTMAS TREE CARD

Well it's official ... Christmas is definitely on the way. It's the first of December and tonight Chelsea and I put up our Christmas Tree. The family room is still a mess and will be until I leave this computer and go clean it up. No picture of the Christmas Tree yet ... it's just the same as last year .... but it looks just as magical ... I do love my tree.

So here's a Christmas Tree of a different kind. I was inspired by an image I saw in a mag somewhere and this is my version of it using Stampin' Up! products

Isn't it cute! I've used papers from Holiday Treasures and the card colours are Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip. Punches were Eyelet Border,Star and Large Star and Curly Label. The greeting is also from the Curly Label  stamp set. Ink colours are Old Olive, Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip.

Cheers

STAMP CLUB END OF YEAR PRESSIES

Hi Everyone

Just got back from a week's holiday down the beach. The weather was fab, the unit was great ... I shopped, ate, drank and caught up with friends, it was wonderful.

But I"m home now and I thought you might like to see the gifts that I made for the girls who were in my Stamp Club over the last six months.

Each of the girls received a personalised mini Visual Art Diary, a hand stamped mini shopping bag and a little parcel of ribbon, a sponge and a selection of all the brads and clips in the catalogues. The above book was for Julie and the paper was from the Bella Rose range.

These books were for Tina and Dina. The paper on Tina's was from Urban Oasis and on Dina's I used Parisian Breeze.

On Sandra's bag I used paper from Tea Party.  You will notice that all the photos were taken in different places. This is because I forgot to get photos of some of the books before I gave them away, so the girls kindly took a photo and sent them to me.

Now this card was for Francie .... who's a pink girl and the paper on this book was Sweet Always.

Now the last book was from Diane, but unfortunately I haven't heard from her as yet, although I did take a photo on my phone but I have no idea how to download it to the computer. So I thought I would show the book I made for my friend Kerrie for her birthday.

There were no papers used on Kerrie's book because I wanted to do it in red and purple. The stamps are the Baroque Border standard wheel. and the red spots are from the Polka Dot background stamp.

All the initials are from Lovely Letters and the punches were the Scallop Circle and the 1.1/4" and 1.3/8" Circle Punches and also the Eyelet Border and Scallop Border punches. All ribbons are by Stampin' Up! as well.

I know that the girls liked them and if you would like to be a part of my next Stamp Club, then please contact me to find out when the next Club commences.

Happy Stamping
Trish

HOLIDAY LINEUP

Hi Everyone

Recently I was away on a retreat hosted by the lovely Kim Gavarra, and one of the challenges contained a bag with red card, a sample of the Riding Hood Read Patterns DSP, some natural Hemp Twine, 3 silver Brads and some Riding Hood Red ribbon. Here is the card that I came up with:

Now I never really liked Holiday Lineup until I sat down, stamped it out and coloured it ... I have to say it is a really "cute" stamp set. I just love the quirky expressions on the faces of the snowmen, not to mention the elves and the reindeers. Thank you to Belinda for letting me borrow her set!

Colours used were Riding Hood Red, card paper and ink ... to watercolour. Stamps sets were Holiday Lineup and Best Yet. Also used the small and large tag punches and the Spiral punch. The silver eyelet was set with my Crop-a-dile and a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds here and there on the black embossed image.

PATCHWORK

A couple of months ago I did a Christmas Stamp-a-Stack here and made some patchwork cards, so I thought I would share them with you.

This first one is pretty simple. I just punched out squares from different papers in the Holiday Treasures DSP. I then stamped out an image from Punches Three and punched it out using the Scallop Square and mounted it onto Old Olive and then Chocolate Chip Card. The base card is Ruby Red and the ribbon is 5/8" grosgrain Chocolate Chip.

The papers in this card are exactly the same as the first one and the stamp set is Season of Joy. I punched out the paper with a non Stampin' Up! 1" square punch and glued them to some white card then traced the Top Note Template on the back and cut it out and them mounted it onto Old Olive card. The ribbon is Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon.

I hope to post some more Christmas cards soon. Stay tuned.

CHRISTMAS GIFT CERTIFICATES

With everything that has been happening in my life over these last few weeks, I really haven't had time to think about Christmas this year. In fact I still don't want to think about it.

We lost a very close friend a couple of weeks ago (the reason for my long absence) and it's made both Greg and I have a bit of a rethink as to what really are the important things in life. Life is such a fragile thing and none of us know how long we are here for so live every day to the fullest, enjoy every moment and love unconditionally. We will do it for Graham!

But life does go on and here I am back again. This time with a photo of some gift certificates that I have created for two friends to give to a very special lady for her birthday.

Papers used in the top sample were Raspberry Tart  Card stock was Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink and Kiwi Kiss. The lower certificate used Haiku Designer Series Papers and the card used ws Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and So Saffron. Accessories were Scallop Circle Punch and the small and Large Circle Punches. Brad was from Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads.

Following is a couple of closeups of the belly bands.

JAY'S BIRTHDAY

A little while ago I stamped up some images from Sense of Time and they have been sitting in a folder until now.

This is the card that I put together for my son's birthday. Jay is 27 years old now and has his own home and settled with Natalie and Amelia. He's a pretty laid back boy and loves his sport.

The card used was Confetti Cream, Very Vanilla, Night of Navy and Sahara Sand. Accessories were Very Vanilla 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, Small and Large Circle Punches and brads.

PARISIAN BREEZE BAGS

One of my lovely customers who is also a lovely friend .. hi Lynne :) .. gave me a really cute card for my birthday. It had three gorgeous little handbags on it and I do LOVE handbags. I loved the card so much I decided to case it. Now my card is mostly the same as Lynne's I just change the colours and put different bling on it.

I am absolutely loving Parisian Breeze. I love the colours and textures in this card and I will be disappointed when it retires ... better order more before it does.

Both the Bag and the Card are created with the same Stampin' Up! products, here's what I used.

Base card is Chocolate Chip and other card used is Confetti White, Kraft and Baja Breeze. Ink colours are Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze.

I've used a few punches .. 3.5cm Square, 3.5cm Circle, Small and Large Ovals, Scallop Oval, Horizontal Slot (you can't see this but I used it on the bag to thread the ribbon through)  Scallop Edge, Eyelet Border, Round Tab and Boho Blossoms. I just love my punches. Never used them years ago in my card creations, but am addicted to them now. To finish off, I used  the Baja Breeze Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and the bling is from the fabulous Pretties Kit. All product on the card is from Stampin' Up!

Now I should also tell you that the original card was cased from somewhere on Split Coast Stampers, but I have no idea where.

I'm sure the ladies who are going to make these items tomorrow will love them. Have a nice day everyone.

CRAZY FOR CUPCAKES SIDE STEP CARD

I did a class a few weeks back and if you remember I posted a Spring Card that we did at the class. Now I've been a bit busy and never got time to post a picture of the other card that we made. It was a Side Step Card.

We made it using Metric Measurements so that you can get two cards still out of a piece of A4. When I was scoring the card I did it incorrectly so I ended up with a larger side on my Side Step card and I actually liked having the bigger surface to work with. I made two cards and the Cupcake Card is the one we did in the workshop.

Here it is:

Confetti White is the base card here and you can see that I've used Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip also. The stamp set is Crazy for Cupcakes and I've used Pink Pirouette Designer Series Paper together with Pink Pirouette double Stitched Grosgrain and Pink Taffeta ribbons. The little word banner was stamped and then hand cut. I would love to tell you that I used the Oval punches to punch the words out but alas they did not fit the curve. I also used the Stampin' Write Markers to colour in the candle and the sprinkles on the cake.

Now here is the other card with the correct size Side Step:

The base of this card is Confetti Cream and other cards are Barely Banana, So Saffron, Mellow Moss, Almost Amethyst and Very Vanilla. Images are from Fifth Avenue and Great Friend. I've used the Scallop and Large Oval Punches and Stampin' Write Markers.

TREE TRIMMINGS STAMP-A-STACK

Over the last week I have been busy doing three Christmas SAS's. I have also been making quite a lot of cards using the Tree Trimmings set to five the girls lots of ideas.

Now that the SAS's are over I would like to share the cards that we made with the Tree Trimmings set available in the current Stampin' Up! Spring Mini.

With my SAS this time, everyone had to pre-purchase the set and it was included in the price of the actual SAS. It made it so much easier as everyone had their own set to work with on the day and the girls loved it as they had the stamp set to take home at the end of the day.

Now the most important tool that we used in this SAS was the Stamp-a-ma-jig. We used it on both cards and it was a big hit as everyone now knows how to used it properly and really it is an invaluable tool with stamping and card making. I highly recommend that it be a part of everyone's basic tool kit. Also you should purchase some Card Stock Vellum and then you can stamp up a template for each one of your stamp sets and leave it in the case with the actual set.

The base card of the above card is Baja Breeze and the other card uses wais Whisper White, Night of Navy and Kiwi Kiss. Ink colours are exactly the same except the bows were done with Basic Black. Punches were Scallop Oval, Large Oval and the Horizontal Slot punch. The Stampin' Around Wheel is Baroque Border and we got it lovely and straight using the Wheel Guide. Ribbon is Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain. It's a bit hard to see but I also used Dazzling Diamonds on the Baja Breeze bauble.

The base card on this one is Not Quite Navy and then we used Whisper White also. Ink is also Not Quite Navy and the bow was done with Going Grey. Punches were the 1.1/4" and 1.3/8" Squares and the Fabulous Eyelet Border Punch. The original card had 1/4" White Grosgrain on it but I changed mine this morning and put 1"  White Organdy on it. This is not a Stampin' Up! ribbon but I think it looks way better with a larger bow on it then the original woosie knot that we did in the SAS. Sorry to all the ladies who came to my SAS's but you are most welcome to rip yours off and change them also ... if you would like. Also hard to see on this card is the bling. There are three diamantes on the bauble itself. Ooh and the gorgeous letters are from the Lovely Letters Stampin' Up! set.

BIRTHDAY CARDS

Well Last Saturday 3rd October was my birthday. The years are getting way to many to mention these days, so I just like to enjoy my special day or should I say week. It's still ongoing and tonight is the last night and we are off to Paul and Kristii's house for dinner.

Just thought that you might like to see some of the hand made cards that I received for my birthday.

Now the next photo is interesting ... a couple of my friends both went away on a stamping retreat. I couldn't go as it was Paul's 30th birthday and we had the party at our house. Those photos I'll share later!

See the two black and white cards ... great minds think alike!

Thank you to all my wonderful friends for taking the time to make me such lovely cards.

Also if you click on the cards you will get a larger image and be able to see them a little better then in this post.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR MY SON

My oldest baby Paul and also recently married, turns 3o on Thursday. It's been a momentous 12 months for him ... getting engaged, then married and now a big "O" birthday!

I cannot believe he is turning 30 ... seems like just yesterday he was born, the years have flown by in the blink of an eye! My little pudgie, whingie baby has turned into a strong, capable and dependable young man and we're very proud of him.

So now to the card.

Went to Ingrid's house today (another SU demonstrator) and she showed us how to make this 'Envelope Card' that she made on a recent stamp camp. This is my version ....

I've used Urban Garden Designer Series Papers and the card colours are Basic Grey, Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze. Ink colours are Kiwi Kiss, and Not Quite Navy. The stamp sets are Happy Everything and In the Stars (retired). I used both of the Stampin' Up! Star Punches and the 30th Laser cut is from ..... I don't know, just bought it at a craft show ... oooh and some silver brads.

LAST SPRING CARDS

But wait ... there's more!!!!! How cute these look in real life, I made them from paper measuring 2.1/2" x 5". Sometimes I work better in the old measurements then in metric!

Sorry the picture is not so clear ... I must have the shakes a bit tonight!

Colours are Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla. Stamp Set is Oval All. I've used the Wide Oval and Scallop Oval Punches. A little piece of Very Vanilla 5/8" Grosgrain and the paper is from the Designers Papers .. Bella Bleu!

These are thank you cards for some of my wonderful customers! Thanks for your support girls!

SPRING CARD NO. TWO

Well here is the first Spring Card I made for my class this week. Unfortunately Chelsea told me that it was way too girlie for a boys card so I had to come up with another design so instead of banging my head against the brick wall trying to think of another design for boys I decided to make it for a girl and that was the card in the previous post.

Colours used in this card are Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey and Whisper White. Stamp sets are Starring You, Starstruck and also 'son' is from Wonderful Favourites and the 'happy' is from Cheers and Wishes. I've used paper from Urban Garden and the punches are the Star and Small Star, Word Window and 1.3/8" Circle Punch.

LOOKS LIKE SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Good Morning Everyone

I have a workshop on Tuesday involving folding techniques. The girls are going to making two cards. The first one is a Spring Card. Here's the design I've come up with.

I pulled out an old favourite stamp set called Scribble this (it was called Doodle This in the US)

The other stamp set used was Short and Sweet.

The checkered paper is from Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP and the card colours are Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red. You can see that I've used my new favourite punch Scallop Oval together with the Large Oval Punch and I've also used the Boho Blossoms punch for the small flower in the middle of the large flower. Inks were Sahara Sand and Basic Black. Ribbon is the Black Gingham Ribbon and the white brad is from the 5/16" Neutrals Assortment Brads featured in the current Spring Mini Catalogue.

FATHERS DAYS

Hi Everyone

Well Fathers day is less than two weeks away and I thought I might share a card that I made this month for the lady's in my Stamp Club. The girls have been wonderful throughout the few months that I started the club and I appreciate their support. Each month I make them a card and include a technique sheet with instructions and a small sample of the technique

This month the technique was Emerging Colours.

The colours in this card are Kiwi Kiss, Really Rust and Night of Navy. Stamp sets were Baroque Background ... love this image, Sanded, Occasional Greetings, En Francais and the little Fleur De Lys is from Lovely Letters. Now for the technique.

Take a piece of Gloss Card and stamp En Francais in Kiwi Kiss, then randomly stamp the Fleur De Lys over the top in Really Rust. Allow to dry, which doesn't take long, then smoosh with the Embossing Buddy. Next stamp Baroque Background in Versamark over the top of the original images, sprinkle with clear Embossing Powder and heat set. Finally take your brayer and ink up in Night of Navy and then roll over the top of the images continuously building up the colour as you go. It should be heavy enough to hide the images in the background. Take a tissue and rub over the entire card and watch the colours emerge!

Hope you get some inspiration from this card. I will show another card later using the same technique but with Inspired by Nature.

Cheers
Trish

HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY

The lovely Mum of one of our closest friends is turning 90. We are all getting together on Saturday for lunch to help her celebrate this milestone birthday. I've made this card used Fifth Avenue and some paper from the new Raspberry Tart DSP range.

Marj loves roses and flowers and I love the images in this gorgeous Stampin' Up! set. Colours used are Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. The ribbon is Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon. I made three ribbon roses for embellishing the bottom of the card to tie in with the ribbon wrapped and tied around the top of the images.

Now I just have to buy a pressie to go with the card!!!

MYSTERIOUS CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hey Everyone ... I've been busy making and creating for my Mysterious Christmas in July workshops ... of which there ended up being four! Well they are all finished now so I thought I would share with you what the girls got to make in the workshops ... here they are!

Aren't they just too cute ... I know I'm biased ...but the girls did love them! It's hard to give them a name but I like to think of them as either Card Candy, Embellishments, Christmas Tags or Christmas Seals! There were twelve of them in all and we managed to make them all and decorate a Chinese Take Out box (picture to follow) as well ... all in just three hours.

Mind you after four workshops, I had everything down to a fine art in the end .. we had a wonderful production line happening. There are so many bits and so much product that I am just going to tell you that we used HEAPS of punches, HEAPS of card and lots of ink pads. Stamp sets used were Punch Pals, Curly Labels and Spotlight on Christmas.

You will notice some new ribbon and a new punch if you look hard ... they are being released in the brand new mini which will be available from August 1st ... which is not too far away. Contact me if you would like a copy of the new mini.

Cheers

FAUX SILK TECHNIQUE

I've been busy making cards for all the ladies in my Stamp Club and I've whipped up about 9 of these cards and am yet to make two more!

This month's technique was Faux Silk but I also included a little bit of Faux Seersucker on the card as well. I wanted this month's card to have the Shabby Chic look. I'm happy with the way it turned out as were all the ladies that came along to the Technique Club day.

Colours used were Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock. Ink colours were Cameo Coral,Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel. I used the Eyelet Border, Five Petal, 1/2 " Circle and Scallop Circle Punches and the swirl and leaves are Sizzix dies.

I used the Crimper to create the Faux Seersucker effect and the ribbon is 5/8" Striped Grosgrain in Pink Pirouette sponged with Creamy Caramel ink. You can also see that I've used the Jumbo Eyelets and the Build A brads. Last but not least here are the stamp sets ... En Francais, Frames with a Flourish, Weathered, Polka Dot, Best Yet, Eastern Blooms and Baroque Motifs.

HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY CARD

Tomorrow is Greg's 58th birthday ... bit scary when you think about that ... anyway here is a card that I made for him when I was away on retreat.

This card came about from left over circles when I was making Bom Boniere boxes for Paul's wedding. So I got out my Seeing Spots set and whipped up this card. Colours used are Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Whisper White and Basic Black. Punches used were the 1/2", 3/4", 1.1/4" and 1.3/8" punches. I've also used the Jumbo Eyelet, Crop-a-dile and Basic Black 1/4" GrosGrain ribbon. The birthday greeting is from Think Happy Thoughts.

It was a bit time consuming but worth the effort after all it is for my hubby!

Paul's daughter Kate took all these photos and that's Paul's two sons, Matt and Nick directly behind them.

Proud Parents

Jay, Greg, ME, Paul, Kristii and Chelsea ... should have gotten Jay's partner Natalie in the photo but that slipped our minds. A pretty gorgeous looking family .. even if I do say so myself :)

That's it for wedding photos, hope you've enjoyed them. Next post will be a card ... I promise!

JUST ONE MORE

Thought I should put a photo of me and my girlfriends. Lynn is on the left, then Sue (my Sister in law, Bette, Myself, Lynney Lovey, Jenny and Jan.

Lynney Lovey is my oldest girlfriend we have known each other for nearly 39 years ... too scarey really. She will freak if she knows that I shared that info with you.
