21 TODAY

My nephew Nicholas turned 21 about a week ago and we are all getting together tonight to celebrate this milestone in his life.

Yesterday I sat down and created his birthday card. I've kept it as a very simple male orientated card and like the way it turned out. It's very grown up looking I think but then Nick is grown up now too.

Papers are Basic Grey, Ribbon is from Stampin' Up! and the "21" is done on the Cricut machine. 'Today' is printed on the computer and card colours are Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up! and I've used the Nestabilities to created the scalloped square and the Word Window Punch to punch out TODAY..

MY TRI SHUTTER CARD

Well I was away on a stamping retreat last weekend on the beautiful Mt Tamborine about an hour from Brisbane. It was gorgeous ... this is where my son gets married in two weeks time. The weather was a bit unsettled .. but then what's new in south east Queensland at the moment, but we had a fab weekend.

Anyway I made the above card because Francie had seen it on SCS and wanted to make one ... so then of course we all had to make one. Mine is made with the SU Designer Series Papers called Tea Party. I wasn't a fan of the papers but now love them ... well some of them, but I have to say I do love the colours in them.

The stamp sets used were On Your Birthday and Playful Petals ... not a fan of that either until after the weekend when Francie lent us her set :). Ink colours were Certainly Celery and Basic Black and the card was Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and Certainly Celery. The scalloped frames were made with the Nestabilities.

THANK YOU .. FUN AND FAST NOTES

I've spent my Sunday morning putting together a Hostess Thank You for an upcoming workshop. I've made the little handbag that Makeesha demonstrated at Convention so thank you to Makeesha.

Here's a few close ups of the handbag and card:

and another, if you look closely you can see some bling:

and here's one with with the envelope:

I can't get away from my pink theme at the moment.

Paper is from the Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP and the card is Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. I've used the Eyelet Border Punch, Scallop Circle and 3.5cm and 32.cm Circle Punch and the little tag is made with the Scallop Square Punch. Images are from Fun and Fast Notes and the Fast Flowers Standard Wheel. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink Taffeta with a smidgen of Linen Thread. Ooh and almost forgot the image is coloured in using the Stampin' Write Markers.

SPLAT!!!

I just wanted to share my new recipe with you all.

Yesterday was my Mum's 81st Birthday and she loves ginger so I decided to make her an Upside Down Ginger Apricot Cake well I have renamed the cake to an Upside Down Inside Out Ginger Apricot Cake.

Unfortunately part of it stuck to the bottom of the tin and when I tipped it out, I tipped it onto a cake rack instead of a plate so that when I tried to get it from the rack to the plate it completely fell apart.

Now I wasn't going to waste the cake so I hid it away until dessert time and placed a candle in the top and presented to Mum and we all just fell apart ... bit like the cake really! Anyway it was the best laugh we have all had in a while and I must say even though the cake looked revolting .. it tasted fabulous!

There that's the saga of my Mum's birthday cake ... hopefully I will do better next year ... LOL!!

CLOSE UPS

Here's a couple of close ups of the Cupcake card.

Here's another:

and the last one:

CUPCAKES

Well I'm back from Convention followed by a quick trip to Iluka and then I've prepped and had a Techniques class at home and so am finally back to normal ... well almost ... couple of things coming up ... including a wedding ... only four weeks away now, time is going very fast.

Anyway, it was a special friend's birthday this week and here is the card that I made for her.

I've used the Crazy for Cupcakes set and you really can't see too much in the photo but I've pleated the Pink Pirouette DSP on the bottom and the cupcakes have icing on them. It's also hard to see but I have Faux Dry Embossed the Pink Pirouette card using the 1/8' Circle Punch. The icing was made by mixing equal parts of Salt and Plain Flour with a little bit of water and some Pink Pirouette Classic Ink and finally sprinkled over some Dazzling Diamonds. It looks gorgeous in real life.

CHEERS TO YOU COCKTAIL

Whoops .... here's another draft that I forgot to post .... how embarassing!!! Hope you'renot sick of Cheers to You!!!

I fell in love with Cheers to You when I first saw it in the US Stampin' Up! Catalogue and was keeping my fingers crossed that we would get it here in Aus and boy I was so happy to see that it made it into our catty.

I'm having lots of fun with it and the new In Colours. Here I've used Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun and Whisper White. Stamp sets are Tart and Tangy, Cheers and Wishes and Cheers to You. I've coloured the image using Blender Pens. The Lime Segments were done using the Rock and Roll Technique and colours used were Summer Sun and Kiwi Kiss. The scallop border was made using the Scallop Edge Punch and the Ribbon Tab is Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon

CONVENTION SWAP 5

Lucky Last!!

Okay this card will look familiar. It is a variation of my Cheers to You card a few posts back using the kissing technique. Colours used are Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White.

I've coloured the image using the Stampin' Write Markers and the ribbon is the new Satin Ribbon.

That's it gotta fly ... pardon the pun ... need to shower and get gorgeous. Have a lovely weekend everyone and if you have any questions or you would like to place an order please email me.

CONVENTION SWAPS 4

Okay I'm running out of time now, so have to be quick.

This is my fourth swap and I used Fifth Avenue Floral. The images are stamped up in Basic Gray and Baja Breeze. It's a bit hard to see but I also stamped the image on the Not Quite Navy card. I've used the Eyelet Border punch to do the edge and Black Gingham to finish off the card.

CONVENTION SWAP 3

Okay with this swap I have reverted to my technique that I used on stage for the Brisbane Regional last year. It is the Smooshing Technique. I just smooshed my Stampin' Spots over the Whisper White card. Colours were Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Pale Plum.

I punched the flower shapes with the Square Scallop punch and then folded ... don't have time now to tell you how.

The flower stem is from Scribble This and the greeting is from Sweet Little Sentiments and they are stamped in Handsome Hunter.

CONVENTION SWAP 2

The idea for this swap came from my downline, Frances Byrne. I love it so asked if I could case it. The colours used were Kraft, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White in card and inks were Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy. The image is from Eight Great Greetings and the Stampin' Around Wheel is Baroque Border.
